What looks like innocent little dark grooves in this patients back molars ended up to be large areas of decay once we started removing what we thought was a small amount of decay! BUT, notice how nice these new tooth-colored restorations blend in with the tooth! They're virtually imperceptable! This patient was shown these pictures and was sold on our super conservative approach to restorative dentistry and our highly advanced diagnostic tools to find these areas before they became even larger than they already were! We find this type of decay routinely because even though this patient had fluoride in her drinking water to help protect against this, the decay can enter the tooth from within the tiny grooves if they aren't sealed, and destroy the tooth from the inside. A healthy diet also can help prevent this type of problem. |
