Replacement of Silver/Mercury Amalgam Fillings

This patient has been going through treatment to for a few months and recently we replaced her silver/mercury amalgam fillings with a stronger, bonded, tooth-colored alternative composite material. When we removed these old darkened fillings we found decay present under all of them. Many silver fillings that are older have decay under them (the studies show 85% are decayed after only 10 years!). By replacing them with a more durable stronger material, we not only provide the patient with a stronger restoration, it also looks a lot more like teeth SHOULD look! LIKE TEETH!
