Ozone Therapy

The oral cavity is a sea of microorganisms normally living in balance with the entire body. When this balance is upset, disease causing microorganisms become dominant, creating infection, made up of bacteria, viruses, fungi, and even parasites. Each of these “disease causing” types requires a different drug to eliminate its dominance. 
Oxygen/ozone therapy treats and eliminates infection and in addition, supports the surrounding healthy tissues without toxic side effects. Infective microorganisms have no natural defense against the “transient oxidative burst” of ozone therapy. As a result, they die, thus the area is disinfected, safely and completely. Periodontal (gum) disease can be treated by utilizing ozonated water, ozonated oils, and by placing oxygen/ozone directly into gum pockets. Tooth decay, which is actually a “tooth infection”, can be arrested almost immediately with proper application of ozone. This procedure is especially useful when treating children, as minimal to no drilling of the tooth is necessary. In any application, ozone therapy takes only seconds to administer and is completely painless.
